The northern province of Ninh Binh boasts valuable geological and geomorphological values, outstanding landscapes, numerous historical relic sites and heritages. These are important potential and advantages for Ninh Binh to build a global geopark, thus helping to preserve and promote values of different kinds of heritages and to spur the province's socio-economic development as well.

The northern province of Ninh Binh has coordinated with the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences to organise a scientific conference on "Research, conservation and promotion of the value of the stele system at the special national relic site of Non Nuoc Mountain", on May 3.

Ninh Binh province expects further assistance from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) to preserve and promote its cultural heritage as well as better integrate into the world's network of heritage, tourism and cultural industry hubs and creative cities, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Doan Minh Huan has said.

A wide range of cultural activities have been held in Ninh Binh in 2023, helping to enrich and improve the spiritual lives of local people, preserve and promote traditional cultural values, and popularise the province's images to domestic and foreign visitors.

The latest archeological studies showed pottery products first appeared in Ninh Binh about 8,000 - 9,000 years ago, considered the earliest of its kind in the region and in the world. Being awared of the value of precious heritages, in the past years, Ninh Binh has paid special attention to archeological studies and put forth practical solutions to preserve and promote the value of ancient pottery village in Bach Lien hamlet, Yen Thanh commune, Yen Mo district.

Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc on October 6 had a working session with a delegation from the liaison board of the association of Ninh Binh countrymen in Ha Noi, led by its President Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Kham.

Since Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex was recognised as World Cultural and Natural Heritage by UNESCO in 2014, Ninh Binh province has made a range of efforts in issuing policies and programmes in an attempt to preserve and promote the heritage's value in line with the World Heritage Convention.
